Elections 2012: Legitimate “Overthrow” of Governments

1

The time has come. From now to November 6, a top priority of the Church and the pro-life movement has to be informing and registering voters and then getting them to the voting booths to take part in this year’s elections!

Once again, the entire House of Representatives, one-third of the US Senate, and the President are up for election, not to mention numerous state and local races. The fact that more pro-life laws have been introduced and successfully passed in the last few years than at any other time, along with the fact that the makeup of the Supreme Court will be affected by the direction this election takes, are just two of many motives to be active in this election cycle.

The power is in our hands to effect legitimate, peaceful, and Constitutional change at all levels of government, not only by electing new people, but also by ending the always too long nightmare of any government that pretends to have authority to ignore and trample on the right to life and reclaiming the type of government that our founding documents articulate, namely, one that “secures” the right to life which comes from God, not from government.

So what steps do you need to take to do this?

a) Urgently invite others to register to vote. We have convened a coalition of groups that are promoting “Voter Registration Sundays” in the Churches on July 1 and on September 9. Urge your pastor to be involved.

b) Read what the Church and other important leaders say about the elections at our Priests for Life election website, www.PoliticalResponsibility.com. Share the articles among your family, parish, and organizations, and in your newsletters, websites, and social networks.

c) Take the time to learn about all the candidates, federal, state, and local, who will be on the ballot in your state in this election. Begin to support the candidates of your choice, volunteer for their campaigns, and get others to do the same.

Indeed, the power is in our hands but the system is rigged to favor the power of the rich and famous.
The media enhances their campaigns and corrupt capitalism spreads their influence. All the candidates whom I supported because they supported the Constitution, lost.
It may be too late to save the system.
    Chief Justice Roberts is right.
Elections have consequences and the nation can no longer postpone the inevitable collapse.
