Poem: “A Mother’s Golden Heart”

0

A Mother’s Golden Heart

Even before the start
Of life’s first dawning day
I had a golden heart
To guide me on my way

Shining bright before me
Golden as the sun
Constant as the certainty
Of the new day yet to come

Gentle as the morning dew
Upon the petals of the rose
Patiently attending to
Every tidy seed that grows

With a love for little things
And quiet in-betweens
A flower bravely blooming
The flutter of fragile wings

Light as laughter on the breeze
Deep as distant seas
I wish somehow to say
What the heart can feel
But words cannot convey
